One Hope Churches

Statement of Faith

  • We believe that the Holy Scripture which we call the Holy Bible, from Genesis through Revelation, according to the “original manuscripts” that are verbally and fully inspired by God, are inerrant in the original writings and is God's supreme and final authority.

  • We believe in one God, Father Almighty, in Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son, our Lord, and in the Holy Spirit, three in one.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.

  • We believe Jesus Christ was crucified, died, and buried as the price for our sin.

  • We believe that on the third day after His crucifixion, Jesus Christ rose from the dead, bodily, to redeem us from the penalty of our sinful nature and our sins so that we, through faith in Him, will have abundant and eternal life.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ ascended into Heaven and is now sitting on the right hand of God the Father, making intercession for us.

  • We believe that the Holy Spirit, the Comforter, is to reprove the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, guide us into all Truth, and abide with us always.

  • We believe that Jesus Christ shall come again with a shout, with the voice of the Archangel and the trumpet of God, and receive us unto Himself, and where He is there we will be forever.

  • We believe in the eternal separation from God for those who refuse His gift of love through Jesus Christ.

Who We Are

At One Hope Churches, we strive to be missional and aware of our community's socio-historical context. We aim to understand the development of the environment and respond wisely in our efforts to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our ministry is intentional in reaching out to the community and everything we do is attuned to our surroundings. Our church is committed to the Great Commission and seeks to understand the context of our ministry. We believe that seeking intelligence for advancing the Kingdom of God in devil-held territories is essential and strategic obedience to the Gospel. We understand that knowledge without wisdom is like investing money without a plan. The Bible teaches us that wisdom from on high is priceless and should be sought through prayer.
Consider these three verses from the Old and New Testaments:

  • David's men, the descendants of Issachar, were known for their wisdom about context and applying wisdom to effective planning: "And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had an understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do" (1 Chronicles 12:32 KJV).

  • The Apostle also admonished the saints at Ephesus to pursue godly understanding that would lead to both personal and ecclesial ministry success; "success," for St. Paul, was to align the local church (and one's life) with the revealed will of God: "Wherefore be ye not unwise but understanding what the will of the Lord is" (Ephesians 5:17 ESV).

  • Mercifully, the Lord has provided us a way to apply knowledge to wisdom. "Now if any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives to all generously and without criticizing, and it will be given to him" (James 1:5 Holman Christian Standard Bible).

  • Add an example of a Biblical woman (maybe Esther)

The last words of Jesus to the Disciples represent the first work of the Church:"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey all that I have commanded you. And surely, I am with you always, even to the very end of the age'" (Matthew 28:18-20 NIV)The Great Commission given by Jesus is clear and urgent, leaving no room for alternative plans or divided meanings. We are sent by Jesus to spread the Gospel of the Kingdom to the ends of the earth, just as The Father sent him to the world. It is essential for every believer, local church, denomination, or national church ministry to focus on this main thing: proclaiming the message that we are sinners in need of a Savior and that Christ Jesus is that Savior who offers life abundant and eternal through His life, death, and resurrection.Teaching "all that [He] commanded" requires a Christian community that is committed to Christ's Commission and passes it on to successive generations until He returns. This mandate, this way of life of dying to self and living for God, must ultimately be the all-consuming burden, vision, and mission of the Body of Christ. It is the call of the Gospel which means “Good News”, and it is what we mean when we speak of "the missional church."
